As a humanitarian initiative, IEEE SIGHT held its second Ramadan Iftar event in 2026 for orphan children. Hosted at the Islamic Educational College in Jabal Amman, the gathering welcomed around 30 children for an evening designed to bring happiness, connection, and memorable experiences during the holy month of Ramadan.
A small introduction to robotics and engineering gave the children an accessible first look at technical creativity. In partnership with a startup company, the team guided them through simple projects and circuits built from everyday items in a fun and approachable way.
The children worked together to create and decorate their own Ramadan lanterns. The DIY activity encouraged imagination and collaboration while giving each child a handcrafted item to take home.
The event also included slides, basketball, table tennis, and other side activities. These physical activities gave the children space to play, move, and enjoy the evening together before the group Iftar.
The day concluded with a shared meal and simple gifts for the children. By bringing together technical learning, creative making, physical play, and humanitarian care, IEEE SIGHT created a warm Ramadan experience that left the participants happy and excited.
