Planet Academy

A free, AI-powered website that helps students learn by turning free online videos and articles into a step-by-step study plan.

Project summary

The project idea

Planet Academy was created in 2026 by our student volunteers. It helps students who cannot afford expensive online courses, as well as learners who do not know where to start because the internet contains too much information.

How Planet Academy works

Users answer two questions: What do you want to learn? and Why do you want to learn it? The built-in AI then finds free videos, articles, and guides and organizes them into a simple study plan that fits the learner's time and level.

Learning and community

A personal dashboard, leaderboard, and blog help learners stay motivated, follow their progress, and share their learning journey with others.

From challenge to launch

We first built Planet Academy for the Replit Content Challenge in March 2026. Although we did not win, the team continued improving it.

We later presented the website at a live booth in the Engineering Faculty, where hundreds of students tested it and 50 became our first active users.

Project highlights

  • Build personalized learning plans from free online videos, articles, and guides.
  • Match each study plan to the learner's goal, available time, and current level.
  • Support motivation through a personal dashboard, leaderboard, and community blog.
  • Give students a clearer and more affordable way to begin learning.
  • Reach hundreds of booth visitors and welcome the first 50 active users.

Think in Blocks

A fun project that teaches engineering and computer coding using Minecraft.

Project summary

The project idea

Think in Blocks uses Minecraft Creative mode as a workspace for learning by building. With access to every block and game element, students can explore the computer, hardware, and technology projects that engineers and technology enthusiasts increasingly create in this environment.

Technical capabilities and simulations

Learners can create circuits that perform specific tasks, much like the parts of a computer. Projects can include processors, RAM, and storage systems that sort different kinds of data.

By building and testing these systems, learners gain a practical way to see how Minecraft can represent technology and engineering concepts.

Educational focus and benefits

The initiative helps STEM students of different ages in Jordan practice and understand hardware, logic, artificial intelligence, and machine learning through an interactive, visually engaging game.

Students can apply what they know and help others understand complex ideas through a simpler format. It offers a more accessible introduction when these subjects first feel overwhelming.

Target community and scope

Think in Blocks aims to build a community for SIGHT members and serve university students with IEEE membership across Jordan, along with younger school students interested in STEM.

Vision

The Minecraft project begins the 2025/2026 plan and aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education. Its vision is to transform learning methods and make self-learning easier and more enjoyable for students and technology enthusiasts.

The team aspires to combine valuable STEM education with gaming and encourage more projects that make education something young people choose to pursue in their free time.

Goals

  • Simplify complex ideas in electronics, hardware, and logic through an interactive game environment.
  • Transform traditional education into an experience that feels like play and promotes creative learning.
  • Make learning engaging and accessible for students.
  • Develop creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills among young learners.
  • Highlight SIGHT's role in improving education.
